March is National Craft Month

Three People Doing Papercrafting

March is National Craft Month. It’s a great time to learn something new or dive into that project that you have been putting off. The library doesn’t only have books to help you get started. With the addition of the makerspace the library is now your DIY headquarters. Knowledgeable staff can walk you through the process of learning a new craft. If you’re looking for a project Creativebug.com is an amazing resource. Through the library you can access thousands of projects and instructional videos online.

A makerspace is all about hands-on learning. Bring your ideas and learn how to bring them to life or come get new ideas. From the artistic to the useful there is always something to make. You can: use our silhouette cutting machine to design and make your own greeting card, use the 3D printer to make a replacement piece for that board game you love, learn to knit and make a blanket for the little ones in your life, and much more. From crafty to techy there is something here for everyone.

Our space has options for all skill levels and interest from no-tech to cutting edge technology. During the month of March the makerspace will have a DIY Drop In program every Thursday from 4-6 pm. You can do the drop-in craft or just come see what we are working on!
