The Harnish Main Library closed February 22 and 23 in order to shift shelves and furniture into the new addition, and move staff work stations into new areas. The west side of the library is now cordoned off as we move into Phase 2 of our project, which includes construction of a dedicated computer lab and teen space on the first floor, and an expansion of the play area on the lower level.
We recognize that it may be difficult to find materials, as they have been shifted to other areas in the library or packed up and sent to storage. Please don't hesitate to ask library staff if you can't find what you're looking for. We're here to help! And if we don't have it here, we will borrow it from another library.
You may notice more noise and traffic with construction activities moved to the interior of the building. We appreciation your patience during this phase of construction and your understanding that this is a temporary situation. Please visit our new Quiet Reading Room and the various seating areas available in the Adult Services area of the new addition.
In the lower level, the large meeting room is now home to most of the picture book collection, as well as a mini play place containing the most popular pieces from the Youth Services play area. Be sure to check out the new reading nooks -- but please take your shoes off before you curl up with a good book!
Unfortunately, our new study rooms on both levels are not ready for public use. We hope to have them ready to go by early March. Thank you for your support as we build a new and improved library for our community!
