Results from our 2018 community survey told us that nearly 57% of our community were not aware that our patrons can use their library card to stream movies and music at no cost using library subscription services. More than 43% of survey respondents didn’t know that AAPLD library cards allow access to a variety of online learning resources to help them gain new computer skills, learn languages, engage in DIY auto repair, prepare for college and career testing, and more.

Getting Around Goodreads

Launched in January 2007, Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations (you do not need an AAPLD card to access). Their mission (like ours!) is to help people find and share books they love. A few things you can do on Goodreads:
- See what books your friends are reading.
- Track the books you’re reading, have read, and want to read.
- Check out your personalized book recommendations.
- Find out if a book is a good fit for you from community’s reviews.
Navigating Novelist

Novelist, a free resource that links readers with book selections based on preferences in genres, characters, series, authors, and more, is the secret to finding your next great read. The library subscribes to NoveList Plus, a trusted source of expert read-alike (and listen-alike) recommendations. Novelist is also great for finding books for children according to their lexile, grade or reading levels.
