According to nationalvoterregistrationday.org, more than 800,000 people registered to vote ahead of the mid-term elections. Many of those registered on September 25, which was National Voter Registration Day.
On September 25, AAPLD patrons and visitors were able to pick up a printed application and/or brochure on the voter registration process in Illinois. The library also provided dedicated laptops for people to check the status of their voter registration or register to vote online.
On any day, library staff can help you be involved in our electoral process. Feel free to stop by anytime and use our public computers to register online at the Illinois State Board of Elections web site. If your situation has changed recently (i.e., a relocation or marriage), you may want to simply visit their registration lookup portal to make sure your registration status is active and valid. The last day to register online is October 21, 2018.
If you won’t be able to vote in person on Election day, you can still vote!
