Read for the Record Oct. 25

maybe something beautifulCelebrate the power of reading and help support early literacy on Thursday, October 25 as we participate in Jumpstart’s annual Read for the Record! From 10:30 to 11:15am, we’ll read a special book and then create a community mural for the library.

This year’s Read for the Record book, Maybe Something Beautiful by F. Isabel Campoy & Theresa Howell, is a story about a little girl named Mira who creates a mural with her neighborhood, revealing how even the smallest artists can accomplish something big.

Can’t join us at the library? Maybe Something Beautiful is also available with your library card on hoopladigital in eBookaudiobook, and read-along video, You can also download FREE activity and reading guides directly from Jumpstart to help build literacy skills with your child as you read together.

Children with strong literacy and language skills are more likely to succeed in kindergarten, and a love of reading can foster a love of learning that will benefit children in kindergarten and for years to come. Help promote early literacy with us on October 25!
