Eastgate Renovation Project Update #9

So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it!—Willy Wonka may have said it best, and it perfectly captures the whirlwind of activity happening at the Eastgate Branch. September was a busy month, and as we move into October, the work continues at a quick pace!

Our team of builders and contractors made significant progress, including new walls, tile work, geothermal wells, windows, and a patio. The project is moving full steam ahead.

Speaking of the patio, many of you now have a lasting memory as your hand-painted rocks are officially part of its foundation. It’s a wonderful way to leave a personal story at the library, one that you can share with your family for years to come. Thank you to everyone who decorated a rock for the patio!

On September 30, we welcomed a brand new elevator, a major upgrade from the original. This new elevator meets today’s accessibility standards and will be installed over the next month, ensuring everyone can enjoy our renovated space with ease.

If you’ve driven by recently, you might have noticed the new windows gracing the front of the building. These stunning additions bring unique character to the design, flooding the space with natural light and offering an open view—right now, you can even see construction work in action.

But just wait, we haven’t even talked about the play area, study rooms, and café to read, explore, and relax that are still coming. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to unveiling the new-and-improved Eastgate Branch!
