FT/PT: Part-time, hourly, non-exempt
Hours: 15-25 hours/week (primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends)
Wages: Starts at $16.20-$17.80/hour – depending on qualifications and experience

Description

Join our supportive library team and be a partner in making the library a welcoming place where people want to meet, play, learn, and study!

We are seeking a conscientious and reliable person to fill an evening and weekend position on our Building and Grounds Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping the Library buildings and grounds looking their best and operating efficiently by contributing to the upkeep and order of our well-maintained facilities; be team oriented but able to work independently; and demonstrate initiative, problem solving skills, and good judgment when handling situations.

Responsibilities

  • timely and accurate meeting room set ups and study room cleaning
  • light custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment (including wiping down high touch surfaces, collecting trash and recycling, cleaning and supplying staff and public bathrooms, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting)
  • light grounds work (including weeding and trash pickup)
  • support for public and staff programs and events
  • other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or high school diploma in process
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and set up meeting room furniture and other equipment
  • Ability to follow written and spoken directions in English
  • Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn building and/or grounds maintenance procedures
  • Experience working or volunteering in a support capacity, preferably in a similar position, a plus
  • Reliable transportation
