Are you a high school student looking for a place to work on that group project for school, play board games or Nintendo Switch with friends, or just chill after a long day? Check out the Teen Room, at the Main Library on Harnish Drive, now open during regular library hours.
Located on the main floor near our Young Adult shelves and technology area, the room is complete with comfy booths, a large table and whiteboard, a gaming area with a Nintendo Switch, a great selection of new and classic board games, plus plenty of seats for solo reading or study. Use our public wi-fi, or charge your device. If you need to print, our printers, copier and public computers are steps away.
You’ll also find fun (free) surprises, like craft supplies to create your own manga bookmark. The announcements board at the door has news about programs, crafts and other activities, and if you’re interested in volunteer opportunities, we have those, too. Drop by weekdays between 3-5 pm and talk with Teen Librarian Holly Eberle to find out more.
High school students, freshmen through seniors, are welcome. No reservations are needed, and unlike our study rooms, food and canned drinks are allowed. We even have a mini-fridge stocked with some of your favorite beverages, also free of charge.
The door is open. Come in, grab a soda, and enjoy yourself at AAPLD’s Teen Room!
