This month’s gallery features a collection of mythical creatures drawn by high school student Abby Lilliebridge. Abby has been drawing dragons and other mystical figures since 2013. She typically sketches with a mechanical pencil on either gray or tan-toned paper or notebook paper. Sometimes she uses a drawing tablet with a stylus in Photoshop.
Abby draws nearly every day and has filled at least five sketchbooks. Her illustrations range from elaborate dragons to mythical sea creatures. She is inspired by photographs, museums, other artists’ work, steampunk style, sci-fi fantasy novels, games, and movies, as well as observing animals and 
nature. Her brother gives her great ideas and suggestions on what to draw too!
Abby is home-schooled, and a student and volunteer at Creative Arts Inc. in Crystal Lake, Ill., where she is constantly inspired and encouraged.
