Help people in our community who need a “fresh start” by donating to our toiletry drive October 21-27! AAPLD and other McHenry County libraries are partnering with the United Way of McHenry County for a special Week of Caring. Drop off brand new toiletry items at the Harnish Main Library lobby between Sunday, October 21 through Saturday, October 27. While you’re here, check out our brand new spaces, from our Quiet Reading Room to our Makerspace to our expanded kids’ play area downstairs.

This project will benefit the Illinois Head Start Association, Rosecrance-McHenry County, and TLS Veterans. United Way of McHenry County partners with 30 local non-profits, funds 48 programs focused on helping individuals, benefits over 91,000 people through programs and services provided by the partner agencies, and has raised more than $52 million over the past 50 years.
