Our library district belongs to a 24-member group of libraries known as Cooperative Computer Services (CCS) that shares resources, knowledge and an integrated automation system. AAPLD’s membership in this group allows us to expand our collection beyond our walls and bring a greater variety of materials to our patrons.
From January 12-14, the Morton Grove Public Library (and its collection) will be added to the group. While that library’s data is migrated to the system, AAPLD’s online catalog and library account system will have limited functionality; afterward, our patrons will have even more materials to choose from!
How will the January 12-14 activities affect you?
On the shelf. Item availability may not be accurate. If you need assistance finding materials, please ask a staff member.
Holds. AAPLD cardholders won’t be able to place or maintain holds, but you will NOT lose your place in any hold queues. You can also pick up holds that are ready for you.
Renewals. You will not be able to renew items during the transition period.
Auto-renewals. No preoverdue/autorenew notices will be sent out January 12-14 during the offline period.
Checking out. Be sure to bring your library card to avoid delays in checking out items. Self check stations will still be available for your convenience.
Checking in. Items that are returned will still show up on your account until the system is back online. Items returned will be checked in by library staff once we are back online. It may take a day or two for all returned items to be removed from your account.
Payments. You will not be able to pay any charges on your account.
E-books and online resources. Our eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines, streaming videos and music will be available during the transition – just log in!
The app. This limited functionality also applies to accessing the catalog and your library account through the library app.
Thank you in advance for your patience. Questions? Please speak with staff at any service desk.
