Be a Part of Eastgate’s Transformation!
Construction is progressing steadily at the Eastgate Branch, and our construction team has been working tirelessly. One of their upcoming projects is pouring the walkout patio, which will flood the library with natural light and offer a safe, outdoor space where children and families can enjoy programs, activities, and time together.
As we shared earlier this year, we know how much Eastgate means to so many of you, and we want you to be part of this exciting transformation. Starting on August 8, 2024, you’ll find baskets near the Circulation Desk at the Harnish Main Library, located at 2600 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, IL. These baskets will be filled with rocks for you to color or inscribe with your family name. These decorated rocks will become a permanent part of the Eastgate Library, forming the gravel bedding beneath the patio’s concrete slab.
For our Eastgate patrons, baskets and markers will also be available at Historic Village Hall, located at 2 S. Main Street, Algonquin, IL, on August 11, 12, 18, and 19, 2024, during our service hours from 12–3 PM. At the Harnish Main Library, the rocks will be available for decorating through August 19, 2024.
